The Noosa region is filled with beauty and wonder. When you come for a visit, touring the natural attractions is a great way to start. Just see to it that you go beyond that by exploring Noosa's creative side.

Established in 1981, the Noosa Regional Gallery is the premier gallery in Sunshine Coast and also the major public gallery in Noosa. It is located in the small town of Tewantin and showcases exhibitions by leading local, national as well as international artists and curators. Not only that, but the gallery also  features public events, major exhibitions and workshops.

In fact, there are some events and workshops you should not miss.

Taste of Art 2017
Friends Noosa Regional Gallery's annual Taste of Art exhibition begins on January 27 and ends on February 26. The event is free and everyone is welcome to drink coffee and join the conversations.

The upcoming public event includes talks by various artists one of which is Heather Murphy who will be sharing her "Light in the Landscape". Dennis Forshaw, an expert in the ceramic world will be discussing the techniques and skill needed when working with matt and gloss crystalline glazes. Contemporary mixed media artist Cheryl McGannon, on the other hand, will be showing you how to work with oil, wax and pigment. In addition, a Family Day will be held on the second Sunday of the exhibition where free kid-friendly art activities will be available.

Tree Place Workshops & Pop Up Exhibition
The Tree Place will be holding workshops for both kids and adults. On January 5 and 6, kids aged 7 to 11 and 12 to 15 respectively can create their own journal. The Tree Place will help them learn and use their senses to explore and record our natural world. On January 7, it's the adult's turn to create their own journal. Then from January 7 to 19, the Tree Place Pop Up Exhibition takes place.
